Introduction: These are the top 10 worst or "cheesiest" lines, according to a polling of 2,000 movie-goers in the UK in late 2004. The survey was commissioned by Warburtons, a UK company, to mark the launch of its new snack food, Cheese Flavour Crumpets. Respondents were asked: "What are your top three cheesiest moments in film?" Warburtons reported that surveyed women opted for romantic comedy moments from films such as Notting Hill (1999) and Jerry Maguire (1996), while men preferred silly scenes from action flicks like Top Gun (1986) and Braveheart (1995). Despite the gender divide, 33% of the overall vote unanimously agreed on the Titanic (1997) yell as the cheesiest moment. With Patrick Swayze's film performances and lines in both Ghost (1990) and Dirty Dancing (1987) accounting for 44% of the total votes received, he became the undisputed 'King of Cheese'. The span of films in the top 10 ranged only from 1986 to 1999. Missing were other obvious quotes, such as: "Love means never having to say you're sorry," from Love Story (1970), "I love the smell of napalm in the morning," in Apocalpyse Now (1979), and "Hasta, la vista, baby," spoken by The Terminator T-800 Model 101 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). UK's Empire Magazine in November, 2003 conducted its own survey of the "50 Cheesiest Movie Moments of All Time". Four of their entries in a top ten list were duplicates from Warburtons list.
